Ricky and Terry
These two sisters were born approximately April 1, 2021, in Glencoe. Mom Lucinda was (and remains) a little on the wild side, but these sweet things, despite being born outdoors, were more than ready to make some human friends. Named Ricky and Terry as a nod to Stephen’s older brothers (yeah, Terry is the mustachioed one), the fact that they were sisters made keeping their names as is just that much more irresistible.
As we’ve discussed a number of times, Covid changed the landscape of lots of things, including adoptions. The end of 2020 saw a big demand for adoptions, and we were very lucky to find homes for many of our rescues. As time wore on, however, there was actually a reversal of fortune, as many returned or rehomed their adopted ones. Thankfully, we managed to get out relatively unscathed, but our adoptions really diminished.
As a result of this situation, we have not only had a slow-down of adoptions, we have also experienced a forming of bonds – not just between us and our charges, but between them as well. Ricky and Terry were naturally quite close, but time has made them almost inseparable in our eyes. We would really love to see these steadfast companions remain as such throughout their lives.
Ricky is the slimmer of the two, as Terry really enjoys her meals and treats. Other than that, and their markings, they are quite identical in every way. They are almost always hanging around together, and they have the same playful nature, loving demeanour, silky two-tone coats, and slight statures. They have just turned one year old, and are really coming into their own.
Might you find it in your heart to give these girls the loving home that they deserve? Adoption application available here.
