Honey

Honey is one of the queens of the colony that brought our rescue into existence, the mother of countless litters, survivor of at least 5 harsh winters. She has not had an easy life, but has enjoyed the last 16 months indoors, fixed, and fed, with our rescue. She has her family to take care of her.
Our mandate has always been that we leave none behind, but as the kittens, so adorable, come and go, moms like Honey remain – not easy to integrate into a standard household, so accordingly, we don’t “push” cats like her on most of our potential adoptive families. While we could certainly use the space and resources to rescue more, our first loyalty lies in doing right by the ones that we do have, and Honey is as important as any of the others.
She does deserve a good life, and we fool ourselves that no one could want her with all the other cats to choose from. Honey’s markings, striking as they are, would classify her as a dilute tortoiseshell. She does love human company, sitting as near as she dares when we are in the kitchen or the living room, occasionally – occasionally – accepting a couple of soft pets on her terms.
She needs work – patience, space, understanding – to realize her full potential. A retiree or senior would be perfect for her – someone with the patience, kindness, and time to invest in a truly sweet girl. If you think you or someone you know might be what Honey needs, contact us.
